How does UE Bring Up with free 5G Core

Hi,
I am new to free5Gc just started learning and curious about the things.
I learned the basic registration and de-registration call flow UE->5GNR->UPF->DN and the core element or network functions of 5g but I want to understand below
How does UE bring up connection established or How does the connection flow goes to the free5gc ?
what are the layers or protocols are used ?
And is there any possibility of bypassing any of the layer like l1(PHY) ?

free5GC is an open source 5G core network according to the 3GPP Release 15 international standard. For the UE bring up connection established or connection flow, you can refer to Chapter 4 of 3GPP TS 23.502, which describes the detailed Registration procedure.
