I am running Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS with kernel 5.4.0-54-generic. Is this kernel compatible or does it have to be the exact version specified of 5.0.0-23-generic?

This kernel requirement is base on PrinzOwO/gtp5g.
Although we have get some report that some of the kernel version is also available, we will still follow the requirement of gtp in case.
